The massive opportunity for AI Market in India
India was ranked 3rd among G20 countries in 2016, measured by the number of AI focused start ups. Since then, the compound annual growth rate of 86 %, is higher than the global rate….
AI is a super hot skill today, and the price remain very cheap in India (starting at 10 000 Euros) to acquire such talents. However if they are good engineers in India can get a raise of 50 to 80 % after one year if they find the right exposure on projects like chatbot building.
From a funding point of view this sector has doubled between 2017 to 2018 to reach $478 millions.
Swiggy, (the Indian competitors of Deliveroo and Uber Eat), founded as recently as 2014 (evaluated from USD 700 millions in february 2018 to $ 3,3 billion by end of the year) is leaning on technology, and specifically on AI to help its system keep pace with this rapid growth.
The company uses machine learning to train its system to distinguish between veg and non veg meal, expand its language, and different user preferences, and of course to tackles its 40 billions interactions in January 2019, between consumers, riders, and restaurants. It was only 2 billions in October 2017…

2019, the connected mini-farm’s year !
Brooklyn’s startup Smallhold creates connected and autonomous mini-farms capable of growing between 30 and 120 pounds of mushrooms in a week with the footprint of a refrigerator. Mushrooms but also herbs, edible flowers…
Growing hyperlocal food directly in grocery stores produce aisles is a hot trend for 2019 and we easily understand why. Among the advantages of these connected mini-farms’ concepts : no pesticides needed, zero food miles, ultra-freshness and optimized tracability.
Spread the word for 2019: Getting smaller and closer to customers is the new way to sell!

IT is transforming a lot these days and there is a rise of tools addressing the non-tech people willing to build tools.
As a non-dev but a big geek since a long time, I’m a big fan of IFTTT, Airtable, Zapier and all these tools that can match together and help build great tools without a line of code.
Maybe a downside when you use these tools : you usually give access to your data to these platforms and you don’t really know how they use it.
Still a great way to prototype and go fast !
